Esplanade Aging in Place Group: March 2024 Update

Since our first meeting last November, Aging in Place is becoming a real group!

Our primary goal is to socialize and get to know each other while learning ways to maintain our quality of life.

We had a wonderful speaker in January to discuss “What Matters to You” in healthcare choices.  In February we gathered to wish Ed Sullivan and John Schulz  good luck as they move towards retirement and a new home.  After the toasts, John regaled us with his serious around the house safety tips, the best one was “Stop, Crouch, Drop and Roll” if there is a fire.

Mark your calendars for our next meeting on the 3rd Thursday,  21st March at 4:00pm in the Tye Room. We look forward to a talk with Estate and Probate Attorneys from Samuel, Sayward & Baler LLC.   Also, please keep the afternoon of the 3rd Thursday of each month in your calendar open for our group meetings.

I’m thrilled to report that two other groups, [we might call them “Esplanade amenities”] have been formed thanks to energetic volunteers:

Water Aerobics for 45 minutes on Monday and Thursday mornings from
10-10:45 - all are welcome, no reservations necessary.  Come and exercise with us in the pool to great music.  It’s a mixed group and nothing but fun.

Questions? contact: Carol Caswell, Barbara Ogur or Mary Lee Dunn

A Men’s Conversation Group started recently meeting in the Tye Room on Monday mornings at 9.

Questions? Contact:  Fred Davis for more information.

We continue to explore other “age appropriate” subjects to discuss in the coming months.   We appreciate all offers of suggestions with contacts on interesting subjects.

I am looking for a Co-Chair to share in communication and organization.  Part of Aging in Place is always having a back-up and help to lighten the load.
